British academics lose their marbles!
As the violence against Israel increases, with hundreds of rockets fired on the civilian population (much of it from the land recently given to the ungrateful Palestinians in supposed movement towards a 'peace' agreement!), her civilians continue to suffer, but the dead, wounded, and traumatised barely get mention in the British media (particularly in the BBC - which now constantly reminds one of the - slightly updated - broadcasters faux pas, 'the Biased Broadcorping Castration').
Incredibly, delegates at the first conference of the new University and College Union (UCU) in Bournemouth voted (by 158 to 99) to recommend its branches begin 'a comprehensive and consistent boycott' of all Israeli academic institutions. In the rush to blame Israel for everything they join the BBC which adds one new gaffe on top of another virtually every day of the week.
While Hamas continues to promise Israel nothing but annihilation in private (while pretending to have some commitment to peace in public), and Iran races towards their nuclear 'final solution' for Israel, Britain's supposed intellectuals decide to drop their collective pants in public.
Clearly the UCU is controlled by a lunatic far-left cabal which initially attempted this move two years ago - a move which was swiftly reversed. But the world-wide Arab propaganda campaign has easily captured the small minds of liberal westerners who are ever keen to beat their breasts to try and salve their own vapid consciences over inventions of colonial-type activity by those who, not so long, barely escaped Nazi tyranny only to be incarcerated on Cyprus by the British, rather than released to their clearly promised land (most importantly, promised by God: specifically the Abrahamic Covenant of Genesis 12 with the boundaries of this land recorded in Genesis 15 with confirmation given to Isaac in Genesis 17 and to Jacob in Genesis 28 - but also promised by Britain's Balfour Declaration). Perhaps these British muppets should examine the records that show the poor, brave souls who escaped Nazi tyranny only to arrive in Israel from the internment camps of Cyprus - and to die, in some cases within hours of setting foot in Israel, as the evil Islamic forces launched their attack as soon as the UN withdrew! God was watching and Britain paid for this betrayal of the Jews by losing most of her Empire within years of this litany of injustices.
That the UCU fools should fall for a strategy which attempts to draw an analogy between present-day Israel and the former Nazi-like apartheid of South Africa speaks volumes about their very ignorance of the historical facts relating to either situation. This global campaign began two years ago when Palestinian organizations launched their deception which has, so far, taken in such varied ignoramuses as: North American churches, a provincial council in Norway and twenty or so organizations in Quebec. All have endorsed a call to boycott Israeli products and companies supporting 'Israeli apartheid'.
Facts seem to mean nothing to these Israel-haters who blame her for the plight of the Palestinians when the Palestinian refusal to attempt any meaningful move towards a solution makes them the true aggressors and responsible for their own situation - while Israelis are the real victims of the terror attacks! How can anyone in their right mind accuse Israel of preventing Palestinian statehood when, in reality, the Jews agreed to it repeatedly in 1937, 1948, 1967 and 2000 and each time the Arabs rejected the offers and tried to destroy Israel instead.
While apartheid reigned did South Africa allow non-white students to attend university? Was Nelson Mandela allowed to sit in their parliament or the courts of South Africa? These are the kinds of freedom that Palestinians enjoy in Israel. Did non-whites get anything like the treatment that Israeli hospitals give Palestinian children who have been injured in the fighting between Palestinian factions and at all other times?
While no Jews were allowed into their Holy City of Jerusalem (because of 19 years of Jordanian refusal to open the Old City to Jews) before they recaptured it in the 1967 war (which was started by Arab nations, as usual) we continue to see the vitriolic and illegal actions of Islam round the Temple Mount: http://onejerusalem.org/templeMount.asp
Of course, if the boycotting cabal get their way they will remain wilfully blind of the fact that not one Jewish settlement would be allowed in 'Palestinian' territory!
Nobody in this - or any other - anti-Semitic camp would believe that Israeli Defence Forces (IDF) who counter-attacked Lebanon last year (after the Hezbullah/Hamas agression began the conflict) even treated Lebanese homes with respect. When supply lines were cut and their rations were depleted they were instructed to only use what was essential and to sleep on the floors, not in the beds, of the Lebanese homes. Before leaving they cleaned up after themselves and left messages for the homeowners which explained how to file a claim for reimbursement from the IDF! How different this is from the treatment still meted out daily by the Islamic terrorists who bombard Israeli homes with Kassam rockets.
The UCU resolution tried to insist that criticism of Israel was not anti-Semitism, when they had clearly gone over the top with their false and libellous claims. Israel, like any nation, is not faultless and fair criticism is always acceptable. But for anyone in the United Kingdom to attempt a truly 'holier than thou' attack when the Bush/Blair war in Iraq has been shown to have led to atrocities by their troops shows that this application of double standards is the result of the most obvious prejudices.
Nobel Laureate holder Professor Steven Weinberg of Texas University made this clear when he cancelled his proposed visit to Imperial College London in July in protest at the NUJ boycott:
I know some will say that these boycotts are directed only against Israel, rather than generally against Jews. But, given the history of attacks on Israel and the oppressiveness and aggressiveness of other countries in the Middle East and elsewhere, boycotting Israel indicates a moral blindness for which it is hard to find any explanation other than anti-Semitism. (The only other explanation I can imagine is a desire to pander to the growing Muslim minority in Britain.) I see this bias reflected from time to time in the news reporting of The Guardian, The Independent and the BBC, so it is not really surprising that the NUJ would take this action.
Pamela Hardyment attempted to justify her backing for the NUJ boycott against Israel by describing this besieged nation in a Ken Living-joke, 'foaming at the mouth', manner:
' … a wonderful Nazi-like killing machine backed by the world's richest Jews … '
Her mental processes can easily be ascertained by observing that she referred to the ' … so-called Holocaust' and concluded: ' … Shame on all Jews, may your lives be cursed.'
Sadly for this 'daughter of Belial' we have the sure promise that those who hold such evil motives towards God's chosen nation will reap what they sow:
Genesis 12:2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing 3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.
Do we need reminding that Hamas states in its Covenant:
Hamas has been looking forward to implement Allah's promise whatever time it might take. The prophet, prayer and peace be upon him, said: The time will not come until Muslims will fight the Jews (and kill them); until the Jews hide behind rocks and trees, which will cry: O Muslim! there is a Jew hiding behind me, come on and kill him…In order to face the usurpation of Palestine by the Jews, we have no escape from raising the banner of Jihad. This would require the propagation of Islamic consciousness. We must spread the spirit of Jihad among the [Islamic] Umma… introducing fundamental changes in educational curricula in order to cleanse them from all vestiges of the ideological invasion which has been brought about by orientalists and missionaries… 'I swear by that who holds in His Hands the Soul of Muhammad! I indeed wish to go to war for the sake of Allah! I will assault and kill, assault and kill, assault and kill'.
Note the clear quotation of Muhammad from the hadith! [highlighted in red]. Who would dare to call Islam a 'Religion of Peace' [note the final promise in red] - only morons of the aptitude of the Bush/Blair ilk.
That they have not changed this stance is proven by the messages emanating from their mosques. Speaking in a Gaza mosque (March 30, 2007) Hamas leader, Ismail Radwan, gave a message entitled: 'Liberation of Palestine.' This message was broadcast on Palestinian Television, controlled by Palestinian Authority President, Mahmoud Abbas:
'The Hour [Resurrection] will not take place until the Muslims fight the Jews and the Muslims kill them, and the rock and the tree will say: 'O Muslim, servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me, kill him!' We must remind our Arab and Muslim nation, its leaders and people, its scholars and students, remind them that Palestine and the al-Aqsa mosque will not be liberated through summits nor by international resolutions, but it will be liberated through the rifle. It will not be liberated through negotiations, but through the rifle, since this occupation knows no language but the language of force …. O Allah, strengthen then Islam and Muslims, and bring victory to your jihad fighting worshippers, in Palestine and everywhere. … Allah take the oppressor Jews and Americans and their supporters!'
Ironically, we also have another joke Anglican joining the farce - the Bishop of Jerusalem, Riah Abu El Assal, who is guilty of falsifying Jewish history by claiming Palestinian Christians:
' … are the true Israel. No-one can deny me the right to inherit the promises, and after all the promises were first given to Abraham and Abraham is never spoken of in the Bible as a Jew. He is the father of the faithful.'
While all this is going on Hamas, Hezbullah, and a rag-tag collection of other Islamic terrorist groups continue their filthy attacks - even on their own kind, making more mockery of the supposed Islamic brotherhood (umma) . In Lebanon more than 100 people were said to be victims of the attack upon the Nahr al-Bared camp. The Observer reported:
Those inside reported dire conditions. ' More than 60 per cent of the camp has been destroyed,' Abu Darwish, a resident, said … The violence - the worst internal fighting since the end of Lebanon's civil war 17 years ago - has driven up to 25,000 of the camp's 31,000 residents to flee. Thousands remain trapped. 'This is it. We tried to negotiate, but it didn't work,' said one special forces officer. 'The army will continue until they are all dead. There is no stopping.'
…Some Lebanese government officials have accused Fatah al-Islam of using civilians as human shields and having fired on people who were attempting to escape the camp. 'The last civilians I took out of the camp were a family with a handicapped father five days ago,' said one civil defence worker. 'Fatah al-Islam would shoot at us every time we entered the camp. The Lebanese army would have to fight them just to get us close enough to take out the sick and the wounded. I could hear them screaming 'Allahu Akbar' [God is great] as the soldiers killed them while we were taking out wounded civilians,' he said.
It is laughable to hear the repeated claims that Israel should not take risks with her security while blaming her for the 'status quo of fear, terror, and division.' Can we take seriously the huffing and puffing from such as Condoleeza Rice, with repeated feeble attempts to construct 'road maps' while claiming that we need to move towards the position that 'everybody wants' - 'two states living side by side in peace and security.' Wasn't Rice on the Board of Directors at the Chevron Corporation with an oil tanker named in her honour and, as National Security Advisor, didn't she dismiss warnings that Osama bin Laden might be planning a terrorist attack?
Again and again we see that the onus is always on Israel to make this 'peace plan' possible while the evidence shows that every concession of land they have made just releases another position even closer to the Jewish settlements for the terrorists to use for their rocket attacks. And, as the Hamas quote above shows, the Islamic position remains unchanged. Intractable Islamists have no intention of living side by side with Israel in peace. They constantly state that they live to see Israel destroyed and a Muslim state established on its grave!
In Britain and the USA we see leaders totally out of touch with the facts - and with the clearly stated intentions of the Islamic leadership - yet they insist on putting words into Muslim mouths. The move to bind Britain to a Federal Europe ruled by Rome, at least 'spiritually' if Pope Benedict XVI has his way, is coupled with real and partial attempts to sever ties to the USA. Nations that once stood shoulder to shoulder, striving to be fair-minded, civilised, and humane are now polluted with humanist ideals that have overtaken Christian principles and, as a result, one of the most dangerous places to be is in the womb as abortion on demand replaces the rights of the most vulnerable in our society - the unborn - with that of the rights of the lifestyle of the adult. God's ways are not our ways and His view of the weak does not hold out hope for those who casually obliterate life in the womb:
Exodus 21:22-25 "If men strive, and hurt a woman with child, so that her fruit depart from her, and yet no mischief follow he shall be surely punished, according as the woman's husband will lay upon him; and he shall pay as the judges determine. 23 And if any mischief follow, then thou shalt give life for life, 24 Eye for eye, tooth for tooth, hand for hand, foot for foot, 25 Burning for burning, wound for wound, stripe for stripe."
Is there really any wonder that Muslims think their way of life is superior to that of a fallen Western society? Those familiar with the Bible know that a Judeo-Christian society teaches standards of behaviour on a far different plane to that achievable by sharia law - but, sadly, we are now living in a post-Christian society that has lost much of its concern for the genuinely weak and defenceless, but desires to grovel to its obvious enemies, allowing them to infiltrate at will. Truly it would appear that Islam is God's judgement on a corrupt and fallen Western society - but most definitely not in the way that Muslims think!
Tale of two evils!
Few things could have so aptly portrayed the deception that permeates the United Kingdom in these 'Last Days' than the attempted car-bombings in London and Glasgow and the growing anti-Semitism in this once 'sceptred isle' that is now the home of a post-Christian majority and a growing invasion force of 'asylum seekers' (who have contributed around 25% of those seeking to blow the nation to Hell!).
It would be charitable to attribute the foiling of the latest Islamic bombers efforts to the awesome security forces of the UK. The scale of infiltration by Islamists into mainstream British society reached a new low with the revelation that doctors and other health staff working in our National Health Service planned to murder as many British citizens as possible. That these cowardly Islamo-Nazis were too incompetent to even measure the width of the entrance of the Glasgow terminal they sought to devastate with their petrol/gas bomb on wheels and dull enough to use traceable mobile phones to stay in touch and (try) to explode their bombs in London speaks volumes. Has anyone raised the question of the dire state of a NHS that needs to employ people of such limited reasoning while our home trained doctors - who have taken the Hippocratic oath rather than a Hypocritic oath - struggle to find jobs in our hospitals? Or could it be that the One True God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob chose to foil Allah, the god of the Islamo-Nazis, by turning their reasoning powers to mush - even as He hardened the heart of Egypt's Pharoah (Exodus 9-10)?
Andrew Alexander, writing in the Daily Mail (July 13, 2007 - 'Terrorists with degrees? Don't be so shocked'), questioned the apparent surprise some felt at the possibility that terrorists might indeed hold degrees as qualified doctors: 'For a week or so, media commentators have been puzzling over the fact that doctors have figured among the alleged would-be terrorist bombers (but were not very good at getting the mixture right, which would seem all too apt).'
After this slightly humorous beginning his article flirted briefly with debunking the failed argument that bombers are 'economically 'deprived' or ... 'underprivileged' [with] nothing to lose' - the usual excuse trotted out by those seeking to support the 'Palestinian Cause.' Alexander could have examined the illogical attempts of 'muddled socialist thinking in which immoral or criminal behaviour can be explained away by economic circumstances' to excuse Palestinian suicide bombers - and perhaps compared them with the equally manic, but more incompetent, work of their affluent bomber cousins (with or without degrees!) living comfortably in the United Kingdom! He might have examined the fact that it is the religious and secular ideologies of the leaders that determine the actions of the followers (we have shown that Muhammad set the example for merciless and indiscriminate killing - see page).
He chose instead to descend into one of his occasional rants against Judaism and Christianity with this turn of phrase: '…. it is time we recalled that martyrdom is not just some activity confined to wild-eyed, Koran-crazed Muslims. Christianity abounds with it, and may even be said to be founded on an act of martyrdom (for the sins of the world).'
That he could begin to contemplate linking the murderous acts of Islamic suicide bombers with the most unselfish sacrifice in history beggars belief. He continued with an attack on early Christian martyrs who refused to 'acknowledge, if only with a gesture, that the (Roman) emperor is also a god. ... the fanatics refused, confident that death would bring them instantly to paradise (sounds familiar).' Finally he chose to include the disobedient, immoral, judge of ancient Israel, Samson, in his attack: '…. one of the first ever recorded martyrs, Samson, [who] by pulling down the pillars of the temple, killed not only himself but all the Philistines in the building - a huge number if the Old Testament is to be believed.'
This is the e-mail we sent to the Daily Mail (no surprise that they did not print it):
Once again Alexander's anti-Semitism and anti-Christian bent shines through his article!
Trying to liken or parallel 'suicide bombers' with Judaeo-Christian martyrs is as 'muddled' as the 'thinking' he believes he is correcting. And, of course, he also glosses over the fact that, worldwide, the majority of 'suicide bombers' are Muslim - and their aim is to indiscriminately kill as many as possible (men, women, and children!) with their selfish act of suicide!
Attempting to besmirch Christianity by attacking Christ's sacrifice ignores the fact that He lay down His life to save many and did not kill anyone in doing so! He also ignores the fact that Christ even healed the ear of the servant of the high priest who was struck by the sword of mis-guided Peter. The accurate comparison is that Christianity is a religion where God lay down the life of His Son to save everyone whereas Islam is a religion where the god demands that your son lays down his life to save himself!
Attacking martyrs who also lay down their own lives for their beliefs without violence, with the intention of taking no others with them and in order to attain paradise, also demonstrates more of his muddled 'thinking.' Finally he mentions the self-sacrifice of Samson in the pre-Christian era. Samson was fighting in a war situation and did take many of his people's enemies with him - but, again, Alexander forgets to mention that this was the final (and for once in his very selfish life!) sacrificial act of a blind-man who had been deliberately blinded by the enemies he eventually killed! Men who have laid down their lives in far less desperate conditions are awarded medals by our country still - or would Alexander denigrate their sacrifices too?
Does Alexander ever get tired of being wrong?
