'Orthodox' Heretics

What on earth is wrong with the Christian Church today?

Quite simply - we believe that there are many heretics, with their respective heresies, installed in many denominations of the Christian Church in the world today - and particularly in Britain and America.

You may question the use of the word 'orthodox' alongside the word 'heretic.'  We believe that we have good reason to use these terms together when we consider the warnings in Scripture and our personal experiences over the years both in major cults and in various churches in Britain.  'Orthodox' has clear meaning having been derived from two Greek words:
orthos,  which  means 'straight, right, safe,  true, or  correct,'  and doxa, which means 'belief'.  Therefore the orthodox belief is that which is 'straight, safe, true, right, and correct.' On the other hand, 'heresy' comes from hairetikos, which refers to someone who is factious and divisive because they set up their own beliefs in opposition to those of orthodoxy.  So heresy is 'heterodoxy' rather than 'orthodoxy.'  The Greek word heteros means 'different' (or 'of another kind') and it was the latter that Paul warned about when he wrote (Galatians 1:6-9):

6  I am amazed that you are so quickly deserting Him who called you by the grace of Christ, for a different gospel;  7  which is really not another; only there are some who are disturbing you, and want to distort the gospel of Christ.  8  But even though we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let him be accursed.  9  As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to that which you received, let him be accursed.

No doubt many will question how we determine the difference but, if their experience is similar to ours, they will recognise many of the traits discussed in the following pages.  When you have heard those who claim to be Christian actually deny that they are orthodox, fail to stand up for the truth, and even attack those who dare to give a definition of heresy, then you will know that you are in the midst of apostasy.

We deal, first, with one of the major heresies that has infiltrated the church in recent years - the
'Word-Faith', 'name it and claim it', 'blab it and grab it', heresy.

The long article,
'Savage Wolves', deals with the many aspects of deception in the church which have been experienced by our members in our twenty-years of history in Cardiff churches.  Just about every Scriptural aspect of deception is dealt with in this piece, including much case-history conversation, and we agree that it is heavy-going at times.  Our prayer is that all Christians would know that the 'joy of the Lord is your strength' (Nehemiah 8:10), but Scripture is also clear that 'in order that no advantage be taken of us by Satan ...we are not ignorant of his schemes' (2 Corinthians 2:11).  Sadly, history proves that many Christians are ignorant of his schemes - and none more so than today!

We intend to prove that there are simple Biblical tests given by God which  prove  the  difference between truth and error - and the easily discernible FACTS OF HISTORY do the rest!

The lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life have all been Christianized" (not by the liberal, mind you, but by the evangelicals) and are now being offered along with Christ to everyone who will believe."... the very values Christ scorned are now being used to attract people to the gospel.
